To be able to achieve this, a company needs an appropriate environment – in Germany, in Europe and worldwide – and strong partners. With a global network of external scientific and industrial development partners, we strengthen our own research infrastructure and, therefore, assure the long-term success of our product pipeline. 

In the division Animal Health, the focus lies on internal cooperations with Bayer Schering Pharma as well as Bayer Crop Science. In addition, external research cooperations as well as the development of in-licensed molecules are part of the research strategy.

To supplement the internal efforts, the division Bayer Schering Pharma collaborates with several companies in different stages of the typical pharmaceutical research cycle.

In the division Consumer Care, the focus of cooperations and in-licensings lies on the development of new, customer need-based products as well as on new technologies supporting current brands.

The division Diabetes Care primarily works on strengthening its core product lines and on expanding into new market segments. Internal development is thereby supported by cooperations with partners to provide user-friendly blood glucose monitoring systems meeting the individual needs of patients with Diabetes.
