The Austrian Geri Winkler made his dreams come true: As the first diabetic, he crested the Seven Summits. Between 2001 and 2008, the adventurer scaled the highest summit of each of the seven continents. Mount McKinley in Alaska, 20,325 feet (6,195 meters) high, was the last on his tour.
